Installing a printer
- After setting the printer physically up or connecting to the computer remotely, navigate to the Kyocera download centre site (Welcome to the user support page | KYOCERA Document Solutions) and input the name of the model you are planning to install.
- After inputting the model name and going to its page, scroll down to the “Printer Driver” section and download the KX Driver.
- After the Zip file has downloaded, extract and run the “Setup.exe” in the folder
- When the program open you will be presented with several options, for this guide we will do express but the main ones we use are:
- Express – this for installing a printer on the local computer, it will search the LAN for printers, add the printer you want based on its IP address.
- Custom – This is for when you are on an AVD server AND/OR you want to give the printer(s) a customer name before adding it to the device.
- Upgrade – For when you want to upgrade the preexisting Kyocera driver on the device.
- Uninstall – Can use this to completely remove the printer and drivers from the device, otherwise just removing from ‘Devices and printers’ is perfectly fine.
- Select Express and the program will Search the LAN for Kyocera products.
- When you see the IP of the printer you wan to add, click on it and then select the “install” button.
- Wait for the program to install the printer, close it before configuring the preferences if needed and then test.
